Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 April 2026
Welcome to ConnEasy. By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use ConnEasy.
1. About ConnEasy
ConnEasy is a football networking platform that enables players, coaches, clubs, and parent/guardian accounts to create profiles, discover each other, and communicate. The platform is operated from Ireland.
2. Eligibility
- Players under 16: Must provide a parent/guardian email address during registration. The parent/guardian must create their own ConnEasy account and verify the link before the child's profile becomes visible. This is required under GDPR Article 8 and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.
- Players aged 16–17: May create an account but are subject to enhanced safeguarding measures. A parent/guardian paired account is required for all messaging on the platform.
- Players aged 18+: May create an account with full access to all platform features.
- Coaches: Must be at least 18 years old to create a coach account.
- Clubs: May be created by authorised representatives of the club. Club accounts require admin approval before becoming publicly visible.
- Parent/Guardian accounts: Created via invitation when a minor lists a parent/guardian email during registration. Parent/guardian accounts can message coaches and clubs on behalf of their linked child.
- You must provide accurate and truthful information when creating your account. Your account role (player, coach, club, or parent/guardian) cannot be changed after registration.
3. The Four User Roles
- Player: Create a football profile with stats, achievements, traits, club history, and game clips. Discover and connect with coaches and clubs. Adult players (18+) can message anyone. Under-18 players cannot message directly — their parent/guardian handles all communications.
- Coach: Create a coaching profile with qualifications, philosophy, availability, and coaching offers. Discover and connect with players and clubs. Coaches can message adult players, clubs, and other coaches.
- Club: Create a club profile with location, league, facilities, and recruitment needs. Clubs cannot send or receive messages on the platform.
- Parent/Guardian: Manage your child's communications on ConnEasy. Approve or decline chat requests. Message coaches and clubs on behalf of your linked child. Access the Parent/Guardian Dashboard to oversee your child's account activity.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use ConnEasy only for lawful purposes related to football networking. You must not:
- Impersonate another person or create fraudulent profiles.
- Harass, bully, threaten, or abuse other users.
- Contact minors in any manner that is inappropriate, exploitative, or outside the platform's safeguarding controls.
- Attempt to circumvent safeguarding measures, age restrictions, or parent/guardian controls.
- Upload content that is illegal, offensive, defamatory, or infringes on intellectual property rights.
- Use the platform for commercial solicitation, spam, or advertising unrelated to football.
- Attempt to access, modify, or delete data belonging to other users.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the technical operation of the platform.
5. Messaging Rules
ConnEasy enforces the following messaging rules to protect all users, especially minors:
- Adult players (18+) can message coaches, clubs, and other players, subject to the recipient's privacy settings.
- Coaches can message adult players, clubs, and other coaches, subject to privacy settings.
- Clubs can message anyone on the platform, subject to privacy settings.
- Under-18 players cannot send or receive messages directly. All messaging is handled by their parent/guardian.
- Parent/Guardian accounts can message coaches and clubs on behalf of their linked child. Messages clearly identify the sender as a parent/guardian.
Each user can control who can message them via the "Who can message me" setting in Settings:
- Everyone: Any user can start a conversation with you.
- Only people I message first: Only users you have previously messaged can send you a message.
- Nobody: No one can start new conversations with you.
6. Content Ownership
- You retain ownership of all content you upload to ConnEasy, including profile information, photos, video clips, and messages.
- By uploading content, you grant ConnEasy a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display your content on the platform for the purpose of providing the service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
- Video clips are hosted via YouTube as unlisted videos. By uploading a clip, you also agree to YouTube's Terms of Service.
- You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload does not infringe on the rights of any third party.
- Endorsements and references written by other users about you form part of the platform's content. You can hide (but not edit) endorsements and references on your profile.
7. Safeguarding Commitment
ConnEasy is committed to the safety of young users. Our safeguarding system includes:
- Three-tier age-based access control: Under 16, 16–17, and 18+ users each have different levels of visibility and access, enforced at the database level.
- Parent/guardian paired accounts: Every under-18 user has a linked parent/guardian account. The parent/guardian must verify their identity via email before the child's profile becomes active.
- Contact detail masking: Email, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook details for minors are hidden from coaches and clubs at the database level — not just in the user interface.
- Messaging controls: Under-18 players cannot message anyone directly. All communications go through their parent/guardian.
- Database-level enforcement: Safeguarding rules are enforced by database triggers and Row Level Security policies that cannot be bypassed by the user interface or API.
Any user found to be violating safeguarding policies — including attempting to circumvent parent/guardian controls, contacting minors inappropriately, or misrepresenting their age — will have their account immediately suspended and may be reported to the relevant authorities.
8. Account Termination
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms of Service, without prior notice.
- Grounds for termination include but are not limited to: harassment, impersonation, safeguarding violations, spam, and repeated abuse of platform features.
- You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Account deletion permanently and irreversibly removes all your data from ConnEasy.
- Club accounts require admin approval before becoming publicly visible. Unapproved or rejected club accounts may be removed.
9. Limitation of Liability
ConnEasy is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
- We are not responsible for the accuracy of information provided by other users in their profiles.
- We are not liable for any interactions, communications, or arrangements made between users outside the platform.
- We do not guarantee the availability, performance, or uninterrupted operation of the service.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Irish law.
10. Privacy
Your use of ConnEasy is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, protect, and share your personal data in compliance with GDPR and Irish data protection law.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the platform. Continued use of ConnEasy after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree with any changes, you should stop using the platform and delete your account.
12. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ireland. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or your use of ConnEasy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
